The bank was motivated by the driving force of Shri. Babgonda Bhujgonda Patil, a distinguished Advocate and Shri. Gangaram Siddhappa Chougule, a renowned merchant.
The Ratnakar Bank Ltd. was incorporated on 6th August, 1943. The word ‘ Ratnakar ‘ signifies an ocean, a treasure house of jewels. The bank quickly progressed as is evident from the fact that in a short span of just 13 years , The Reserve Bank of India conferred the status of SCHEDULED BANK on THE RATNAKAR BANK LTD.
Today the bank has 79 branches spread over Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, Gujarat and Delhi. As many as 50 branches are computerised and more than 75% Business of the bank is fully computerised. The bank has over 5, 50,000 clients and a working capital of around Rs. 1485.71 Crores.
