State Bank of Travancore (SBT) was originally established as Travancore Bank Ltd. in 1945, sponsored by the erstwhile Princely State of Travancore. Under a special statute of the Indian Parliament (SBI subsidiary Banks Act 1959) it was made an Associate of the State Bank of India and a member of the State Bank Group, the largest banking group in India.
Today, the bank has a network of 726 branches and 460 ATMs spanning 16 states of the country, out of which 584 branches are in Kerala itself. The bank has the largest ATM network in the home state and has fully implemented core banking. The bank has a history of 60 years of uninterrupted profits and dividend payments and the bank pays 130 % dividend to shareholders.
Various facilities provided by the bank include Internet Banking, E-Payments, Utility Bill Payments, Fee payments, E-Commerce etc. The bank also offers the full complement of loans including Personal Loans, Home Loans, Car Loans and Reverse Mortgage Loans.
