Dena Bank

The Devakaran Nanjee family founded Devkaran Nanjee Banking Company Limited in the year 1938 on 26th May 1938. The first two letters of the name took the shape of Dena Bank in the post becoming public in December 1939.

The government took control of the bank in the year 1969 along with 13 other banks. The bank went to the capital markets in 1996 and was the first bank to launch a credit card for the rural markets. This card was called Dena Krishi Sakh Patra” (DKSP).

It is a bank which literally has the Goddess Lakshmi (Hindu Goddess of Wealth) alongside. The D shaped logo of Dena bank has the Goddess Lakshmi embedded inside it. The D stands for Dynamism, Dedication and Drive.

Apart from regular banking activities the bank conducts its lending activities under a brand called Dena Finmart which is a one stop retail loan shop. The loans are available under the name “Dena”. Its PersonalĀ  Loan is branded Dena Suvidha, theĀ  Car loan is called Dena Auto loan and so on.
