Public sector bank, Andhra Bank has joined hands with UAE Exchange Centre of Kuwait so as to introduce a special scheme which would help faster remittances to its clients.

This facility would let NRI customers remit money from any part of the UAE Exchange Centres situated in Kuwait. This money would be credited to the client accounts of Andhra Bank across all 1,560 branches of the bank in India, the next day after being sent.

An SMS alert would be sent to the recipients in India acknowledging that the sum has been credited to their account, the bank said.

The scheme was introduced at a meeting of the high net worth (HNI) customers of the Andhra bank in Kuwait.

The bank said that an equivalent scheme is in force with the UAE Exchange Centre of Abu Dhabi which sends Rs 17 crore each month.
