Canara Bank offers loans for construction / purchase / repairs / additions / renovations of residential house / flat including the purchase of land and construction thereon. For taking over of the housing loan liability with other recognized Housing Finance Companies, Housing Boards, Co-operative Banks, Co-operative Societies and Commercial Banks. Loans are offered to Salaried as well as Self-Employed Individuals and also for NRIs

Interest Rate (Daily reducing balance) Loans upto Rs 30 Lacs : 8.75% (<5 year tenure), 9% (5-10 years), 9.25%(>10 years) floating
Loans b/w Rs 30 Lacs-1 crore : 9.25% (<5 year tenure), 9.5% (5-10 years), 10%(>10 years) floating
Loans above Rs 1 crore : 9.5% (<5 year tenure), 10% (5-10 years), 11%(>10 years) floating

In fixed rate scheme, interest rates are between 11%-12%
Base Rate is currently 8%
Processing Fees 0.50% of the loan amount,minimum of Rs. 500 and maximum of Rs. 10,000
Loan Tenure 1 year to 25 years
Amount Funded Up to 85% of property value
Partial Pre-payment Charges Nil
Pre-closure Charges 2% of pre-closed amount if transferred to another institution. Nil if pre-closed with own funds
Guarantor Requirement Gurantor is required

  • Sale Deed, Agreement for Sale
  • Copy of the approved plan for the proposed construction / extension / addition
  • Detailed cost estimate / valuation report from Bank's Panel Chartered Engineer / Architect
  • Allotment letter of corresponding Housing Board
  • Legal Scrutiny Report, EC for the past 13 years, Property Tax paid receipt, Khata and permission for mortgage, wherever necessary
  • Salary Certificate and Form No.16 (only for Salaried)
  • IT Returns and P&L Balance sheet for the past three years and note on the nature of business, year of establishment, type of organization (only for non-salaried persons)
